The Children’s Research Network held a practical workshop on 'Statistical Analysis. This took place at our office in 9 Harcourt Street, Dublin 2 on Thursday, 14th September 6-8pm.
This was the fourth workshop in the CRN Research Skills Summer School, aimed at practitioner researchers and research interested professionals, including early years educators, social workers, youth workers, teachers, research consultants and early career academics. The School consists of a series of workshops held on Thursday evenings, including sessions on sampling and recruitment; data collection methods; data analysis and training in different software packages; practitioner research; introduction to statistical analysis; ethics; and conducting literature searches and reviews. In this fifth workshop on statistical analysis, participants got a thorough introduction to statistical analysis.
Participants had the opportunity to work closely with Aisling Sheehan from the Centre for Effective Services.
Who should attend
This event was of interest to researchers, practitioners and service providers who want to use quantitative methods and statistical analysis as part of their research, or who generally need a grasp of statistics as part of their job. It was aimed at beginners as well as those with intermediate experience of statistical analysis.
