Introduction from Early Childhood Research Special Interest Group (Acting) Chair, Dr Carol Ann O’Síoráin
This year is already looking like a challenging year in Early Childhood Education. We are being tasked with finding a ‘collective identity’ as professionals within the sector ‘ELC’. We are surrounded by voices telling us to up-skill, reform and to be accountable. But what is it that you want to do? How is it that others do not see the professional that you already are? Is it time to stand up and be heard? We hope our Sig can support you through this year.
To do this the Early Childhood Special Interest Group of the Children’s Research Network is determined to follow your voice, to respond critically to your ideas, and to champion evidence from research and practice that supports you in gaining insights and expertise. As a collective, we are actively engaged in bringing quality of practice and experience to you by our network newsletter and activities.
